Some sort of thistle!
This plant grows in my garden in East Devon. I have no idea what it is, apart from hazarding a guess that it is some sort of very fierce thistle! - if so, the Scots are most welcome to it!
(I am not sure which of these two images I prefer - they seem to work in black and white as well as they do in colour. I would welcome other people's views on this matter).
