Isobella, my Greek/Polish friend, at my desk-top computer. Isobella shares my love of rescue dogs - she has a little pooch from the streets of Saloniki, Greece, and I have a Romanian rescue dog from the streets of Bucharest.   Nigel Farage would approve!

A snowy afternoon, Hound Tor Dartmoor

After a heavy fall of snow one early February evening, I wanted to capture an image of of this iconic landmark in the snow - unfortunately this is all that was left on the ground the next day, despite the biting cold.

As if to compensate for the lack of snow, the afternoon light was beautiful, a dark and forbidding sky providing a dramatic backdrop

Hound Tor, Dartmoor

Hound Tor, not too far from Bovey Tracey and Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Dartmoor, is an extensive and dramatic granite outcrop.

A popular venue for practising climbers, sight-seers and family picknickers, this tor - a volcanic "plug" - represents all that is left of an extinct volcano of many millions of years ago.

This shot was captured on a very cold day in early February 2015.
