...left - Upper Jurassic Ammonite, from my personal fossil collection.   I don't know the species, but I am working on that one - watch this space.

 

I have recently acquired a light box for the specific purpose of close-up and macro photography in a controlled lighting situation.   I have used a Leica M Elmar f 4 90mm macro lens with a dedicated macro attachment at f 16, 250 ISO with tripod, 2 second exposure, 2 secs time delay.

...right - another Upper Jurassic Ammonite, again species unknown.   I used identical equipment and settings as for the ammonite above.

...below - Upper Cretaceous irregular echinoid (sea urchin) sp. Micraster Coranguinum, from the Upper Chalk, Dover, Kent
