Stormy Day - The Cobb, Lyme Regis

This shot, not very dramatic I admit, was taken one Sunday in January, 2014, on the falling tide.   I used my Olympus OM D em5, with a 17mm f 1.8 (34mm equivalent) Olympus micro four thirds M Zuiko lens, hand held @ f8, polarising filter.   Edited in Color Efex Pro 3

The storms of December to February 2013/2014 hit us with monotonous regularity, on the South West coast of England.   The Cobb did not escape the ravages of these storms - one of the cannons on the "North" Wall was swept into the sea (you will see that cannon on page 2 of this website) - several boats were sunk and destroyed inside the harbour!

... on a drizzly afternoon, while returning to Lochbuie from Torloisk,  I noticed this incredible light through the clearing clouds

Out of season - West Bay Harbour, Bridport

A small commercial fishing boat, hauled out for the winter, at West Bay harbour, Bridport, Dorset.   There is so much to see at a working harbour - utilitarian and everyday - but there is always a picture waiting to happen.

Leica M 240, 35mm f1.4 Summilux lens, version 2, converted in Colour Efex Pro 3 and then Silver Efex Pro 2.   320 ISO @ f 3.8.   The 35mm "pre-aspherical" 1.4 Summilux lens is a classic medium wide angle lens - with a production history of nearly 45 years unaltered design. The Leica "glow" is especially apparent with this lens, which can be bitingly sharp when desired.

...a lone and stunted oak tree, besides Loch Spelve, Mull

This little tree is a survivor.    Against all the odds, while struggling for sustenance from poor soil, and fighting the elements, it has managed to maintain a tenuous foothold.
