Golden Sunset over Golden Cap
Golden Cap, on Dorset's coast, is the highest cliff on the South Coast of England. It lies between Bridport and Lyme Regis, towards the extreme West of the Jurassic Coast.
The Jurassic Coast is so called due to the predominance of rocks of the Jurassic geological era in the area; in turn, the "Jurassic" era is known as such, due to the predominance of rocks of that age in the Jura mountains of Southern Europe.
