teasel

The wild Teasel, a member of the thistle family of plants, is a spectacular wild flower which is just at home in a flower border, fulfilling the role of an "architectural" plant.   This specimen was growing in a hedgerow near to my home.

Wild Honeysuckle

...one of my favourite summer hedgerow plants, generating a very strong, sweet aroma as the evening approaches.   During the daytime the honeysuckle attracts its fair share of wild bees and other insects but it is at night that this flower comes into its own - attracting a wide variety of moths.
